Kids

How it's played

Padel is played with four people (2 against 2) on an enclosed court surrounded by glass walls, whose dimensions are approximately 75% of a tennis court (10 meters wide by 20 meters long).

The rackets (also known as Padel Bat) are made of synthetic material and their surface is covered with small holes. During the match, players may use the back/side glass walls for spinning while the ball is allowed to bounce first on the ground and then on the walls with play continuing as normal.

In essence, the walls are the third player of each team and an integral part of the strategy used, which makes Padel particularly exciting. A point is scored when: the ball bounces twice on the opponent’s court; the opponent hits the ball directly on the glass so it is considered out of bounds; the opponent fails to pass the ball to the opposite court (e.g. a net impact) The score is measured exactly as in tennis (points, games, sets) and the balls used are similar but with less pressure.
